12.00pm
TONY'S AT LA
PEROUSE. 1599 Anzac Parade (at the very end of Anzac Parade on the right). Meet for lunch at this well located
eatery just near the beach and opposite the
Museum. This is the sort of Sydney Sunday that you always think of having in the sea
breeze! After lunch we'll be visiting the Museum which
commemorates the voyage of the luckless Comte De La
Perouse who bumped into Sydney just five days
after Captain Arthur Phillip set foot on Botany Bay in 1788.
Then brace yourselves for a gentle walk into Botany
Bay National Park, one of Sydneys' best
kept secrets which takes us around the scenic foreshore with its beautiful views across
the ocean and headlands. We'll return for coffee at The
Boatshed Café. Wear comfy clothes, a hat and sunblock. $67
BLACKWATTLE
BAY AND THE POLKA DOT HOUSE
Sunday 27th
January
12.00pm
OSCARS. 84 Union
Street Pyrmont . Meet for lunch at this buzzy restaurant, just near the Darling
Harbour Monorail station and then be prepared for an unusual journey. We'll be taking a
leisurely ride on the light rail to a surprise location, an English style backwater of
hidden gardens, winding streets and charming terrace houses.
From here we'll be taking a walk into the beautiful new Blackwattle Bay area, traversing the shore and
looking out towards the city skyline. This is a visually magnificent walk that takes in
some historic Walter Burley Griffin
architecture the waterside "Bellevue Mansion"
and a certain "polka dot house"! From
here we take the light rail back and return to a very French café which serves delicious
patisserie and coffee. $67 (plus $3 on the day for light rail)
